Moving Stretch is a kind of resistance stretching, and it is quite different, so do take the time to watch this video before beginning. Some aching the day after or even two days after has been known to occur and is not harmful, but a sign of having had a deep stretch. However, if you are unsure, contact your doctor.
Never push through pain and do not stretch if injured or if it makes you feel unwell. If pregnant or physically impaired, you would also want to get the OK from your doctor before stretching.
Other potential contraindications (reasons not to stretch) include, but are not limited to: problems with balance, fractures, certain disorders related to stiffening of the muscles, inflammation, wounds, illness and any other conditions made worse by stretching. Again, consult with your doctor before stretching if you have a condition or symptom that may be worsened by stretching.
